                                  The Colosseum, Italy                                      
Built in - A.D.(70-80)
Commissioned by - Emperor Vespasian (Flavian dynasty).
Located - in Rome, the capital of Italy.

ABOUT - Rome in an elegant ancient city. The Colosseum which is also known as Flavian Amphitheater, it is located in the center of city. It is an oval shape Amphitheater which was the largest theater at that time . The stone which were used to built this theater is travertine lime-stone, volcanic rock and brick faced concrete, which was capable to hold 50,000 to 80,000 spectator.

ORIGIN - In A.D. 68 the decadent Roman emperor Nero took it own life and due to his miss rule a series of civil war after which no fewer then four emperor took the throne in a year Nero's death, the fourth emperor Vespasian and he rule for 10 year(69-79 A.D.) and he commissioned to built Colosseum.

PURPOSE - Around 70 -72 Vespasian order to built a Amphitheater in place of Nero's huge palace which was in the center of the city. he believed that if built a massive stadium to host the gladiatorial
game, the public would be on his side. For this reason, he ordered the construction of Flavian Amphitheater in 72 A.D.

Machu Picchu, Peru.

ABOUT - Machu Picchu is a 15th -century Inca citadel, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru , it is more then 7,000 feet above sea level in the Andes Mountain Machu Picchu is the most visited tourist destination in Peru. Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls. Its three primary structure are the Intihuatana ,the temple of sun, and the room of the three windows.

ORIGIN - It is believed to have been built by Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui, the ninth  ruler of the Inca, in the mid-1400s. It is the most familiar icon of Inca civilization.Empire builder, Pachacuti initiated a series of conquests that would eventually see the Inca grow into a South American realm that stretched  from Ecuador to Chile.

PURPOSE - Machu Picchu was a royal retreat for the emperor Pachacuti and his royal court.Machu Picchu was built in the same style that Pachacuti had popularized as the marking of the Inca estate.The site would have been a place for the emperor and his royal court, thne panaca, to relax, hunt, and entertain guests(Salazar).

Chichen Itza, Mexico

ABOUT - Chichen Itza is located in Yucatan state of Mexico, the northern Yucatan Peninsula is karst, and the river in the interior all run around. Many of site in Chichen Itza are known for their unusual sounds. If you clap once from one end of the Ball court, it produce nine echoes in the middle of the court.

ORIGIN - Chichen Itza was large pre-Columbain city built by the Mayan people of the Terminal Classic period. Chichen itza was a major focal point in Northern Mayan Lowland from the late classic (600-900 A.D.).

PURPOSE - We can tell that Chichen Itza was a religious center because of the nature of many of the ruin and because of human remain that have been found there. Structure is believed to have been used for religious rites that were meant to ensure good agriculture results. Chichen Itza's main purpose was to serve as a religious center for people in the region

ABOUT - Petra is the famous archaealogical site in Jordan's southwestern desert ating to around 300 B.C it was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom. Accessed via a narrow canyon called Al Siq , it contains tombs and temples curved into pink sandstone cliffs, earning its nickname, the "Rose City ." Perhaps its most famous structure is 45m high Al Khazneh, a temple with an ornate, Grek-style facade, and known as The Treasury.

ORIGIN - Petra was built by Nabataeans in what is now southern Jordan, while the civilization was amassing great wealth trading with its Greek and Persian contemporaries around 150 B.C.

PURPOSE - The Nabateans culture erected the city to highlight solstices, equinoxes. An ancient civilization built the famous, stone-hewn city of Petra so that the sun would illuminate their sacred places like celestial spotlights.

Taj Mahal, India

ABOUT - Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the southern bank of the river Yamuna in city Agra of India. It was built for Mumtaz wife of Shah Jahan. the height of Taj Mahal is 73m. It look more beautiful while sunset and sunrise . 

ORIGIN - It origin lie in the moving circumstance of it commission and the culture and history of an Islamic Mugal empires rule of large part of India. the distraught Mugal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the project upon death of one of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was built in Agra between 1631-1653.

PURPOSE - The Taj Mahal was built as a monument of the love. The Mugal emperor Shah Jahan built taj Mahal tpo expressed his love for his late wife, Arjumand Banu Begum popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal, after her marriage to him.

ABOUT - It is the longest structure human have ever built. The great wall of China is an ancient wall in China, is made up of cement, rocks, bricks and powdered dirt. It is the longest wall 21.19618 million m.

ORIGIN - Many of wall were being built from early as the 7th century BC by ancient Chinese state, selective stretches were later joined together by Qin Shi Huang(206-220), the first emperor of China. Little of the Qin wall remain, which was later on many successive dynasties have built and maintain multiple stretches of border wall.

PURPOSE - The Great Wall of China was built to protect china from its enemies and invoders from the North, especially the Mongals. The Mongals were a tribal group that would regularly conduct raid into China.The wall also kept Chinese citizens from leaving China.

ABOUT - Christ the Redeemer, Portuguese Cristo Redentor , colossal statue of Jesus Christ at the summit of Mount Corcovado, Rio de Janerio, southeastern Brazil. It was completed in 1931 and stands 98 feet(30 meters) tall, its horizontally outstretched arms spanning 92 feet (28 meters).

ORIGIN - Vincentian priest Pedro Maria Boss first suggested placing a Christain monument on Mount Corcovado in the mid 1850s to honor Princess Isabel , regent of Brizal and the daughter of Emperor Pedro ll, but the project was not approved. in 1889 the country became a republic, and due to the separation of church and state, the proposed  statue was dismissed.The Catholic Circle of Rio made a second proposal for a landmark statue on the mountain in 1920. The group organised an event called Semana do Monument to attract donations and collect signature to support the building statue.

PURPOSE - Christ the Redeemer is the statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil that was built as a symbol of Brazilian Christianity. In 1850, the idea of building a religious monument was first suggested by a Catholic Priest. It wasn't until 1920 when a group petitioned for support to built a landmark statue that it became a reality.
